Tales Through Others' Eyes

“A single experience can lead to many different responses - no two people see the world alike. It’s an easy thing to draw from life when informed by our own experience but to see through the eyes of others requires that we set out on a journey of imagination and empathy; to see clearly we might have to forget our own prejudices and preconceptions.” - Andrew Morrison, University of Gloucestershire

The Cheltenham Illustration Awards competition has been running for 10 years and attracts entries from across the world. Organised by the University of Gloucestershire, the Awards exhibition travels to venues such as London Book Fair and other galleries and universities, and is accompanied by a full colour hardback Annual.

The theme this year is ‘Tales through Others’ Eyes’, inviting us to imagine the world from a different perspective and reminding us that there are millions of lives beyond our own. Come and immerse yourself in this new collection of visual stories!

Please note that the exhibition will be closed Wednesday 22 November. Additionally we will be hosting our Festive Illustrators Fair in the Gallery on the weekend of the 2 and 3 December.

The exhibition will continue in the Near Year, showing from 1 to 28 January 2018. It will be accompanied by special events, workshops and a Festive Illustrators Fair, all organised in collaboration with staff and students from the University’s Illustration Department.
