Mini Foyer Exhibition
|Medieval silver gilt brooch found near Berkeley|
|17th Century coins found near Ham and Stone|
For as long as there have been people, precious things have been lost or hidden and not retrieved. Many are found each year. If they are made of gold or silver they are subject to the 1996 Treasure Act and must be declared.
This small exhibition shows objects which the Museum has acquired under the terms of the Treasure Act. They range from coins to jewellery and from Roman times to the seventeenth century.
Can you help?
The museum is appealing for donations to enable it to buy a hoard of nine Roman coins found near Nailsworth. The coins will be on display - visit and find out more!
NEWS The Museum has been successful in purchasing these Coins. They are now on display at the Museum. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to helping us preserve these items for the benefit of present and future generations.
